Lockwood Avenue Elementary School is located in East Hollywood -- a multi-ethnic, multi-linguistic, culturally and economically diverse neighborhood. The community is composed mostly of working class families, college students who live in densely populated apartment buildings and young professionals who live in newly built or remodeled condominiums, apartments and houses.

Lockwood Avenue Elementary serves a student body of 331 students that includes both general education and special education students. Our general education program ranges from ETK through 6th grade with a Resource Specialist Program (RSP) serving mainstream students with IEPs. We also have five Special Day Classes for children 3 years old through 6th grade with a variety of different abilities; four of the classes focus on children with moderate to severe autism.

We continue to welcome newcomers each year generally from Central America, the Philippines, and Eastern Europe.
